About Kentucky Darkroom
Kentucky Darkroom is the work of Parham P. Baker, who first stepped into a home darkroom at age 14 and never really left film behind. He’s the former owner of Kentucky Darkroom, a membership darkroom, and today manages a regional camera store, staying hands-on with the gear and the people who use it every day.
Parham’s photography work spans professional food photography, nature and wildlife photography, and a stint as a photographer for the Kentucky State Parks system. Over the years he’s taught workshops, built a large collection of vintage film cameras, and stayed a steady advocate for keeping film photography accessible to anyone willing to learn.
The Kentucky Darkroom book series grew out of that experience: practical, plain-spoken guides for people who want to actually shoot film, not just read about it.
